Nature and You Lecture: Burrowing Owls!

Burrowing owls are a species of small ground-dwelling owl that are found across much of California, where there are a Species of Special Concern and are a candidate for listing under the California Endangered Species Act, due to their declining population and habitat loss. Our January Nature and You speaker is Catherine Portman, President of the Burrowing Owl Preservation Society (BOPS). In her talk, Catherine will discuss some of the unique behaviors and ecology of burrowing owls and then explore some of the conservation challenges facing the species.
