Our annual State of the City Dinner was a resounding success. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did while learning about the exciting new developments for our city.

Yolo County Board of Supervisors Expands Advance Peace Services to Combat Gun Violence in Additional Communities

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is delighted to announce the approval of an agreement with RISE, Inc. in the amount of $400,000 to expand Advance Peace services. This expansion will bring the highly effective gun violence prevention program to the City of West Sacramento, as well as the communities of Knights Landing, Dunnigan, and Esparto. The agreement will be in effect from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

The HIVE Tasting Room and Kitchen Launches Saturday Brunch

The HIVE, Northern California’s largest varietal honey and mead tasting room and kitchen launches a new farm to fork brunch menu, Saturdays from 9am – 2pm. The new menu, which debuted on Saturday July, 22, showcases local produce alongside honey-inspired dishes and beverages.

 

“At The HIVE, we encourage guests to relax among the pollinator gardens, learn about varietal honey and mead (the alcoholic beverage made from honey), and enjoy a well-crafted meal,” shares Nectar Director, Josh Zeldner

 

The HIVE Tasting Room and Kitchen is located at 1221 Harter Ave in Woodland, CA and is open Tuesday – Thursday 11am-3pm, Friday 11am-8pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. For more information visit their website.

 

Yolo County Releases Renewal Draft of the Election Administration Plan for 14-Day Public Comment Period

The Yolo County Elections Office transitioned to election administration under the California Voter’s Choice Act (VCA) in 2022. The Elections Office has developed a renewal draft Election Administration Plan (EAP) that is now available on their website. Public comment on the draft EAP may be submitted over a 14-day public comment period (until Wednesday, July 26, 2023).

Becoming a Chamber Champion is just what you're looking for! Chamber Champions are an exclusive group of member volunteers who will meet on a regular basis to engage new and current members in fun and upbeat ways. They support the Chamber's mission by attending events, welcoming new businesses, assist in marketing efforts, and rallying the Woodland business community.

Seniors' Weekend Food Access Supported By $10,000 Bayer Fund Grant To Meals On Wheels Yolo County

Meals on Wheels Yolo County recently announced receipt of a $10,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., to continue and expand the provision of weekend nutrition to Yolo County’s lowest income senior citizens.

Yolo County Achieves Record Assessment Roll of Over $36 Billion

Yolo County experienced another year of growth as reflected in the assessment roll value  released today by the county’s Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters Jesse Salinas. According to Salinas the annual assessment roll reached $36.13 billion, a 6.87% increase over the prior year.

Stop by Cache Creek Realty's new location for a Taco Tuesday Open House! The event will held at their offices at 215 Court Street on Tuesday, August 1st from 4 to 6 p.m.

 

The SpongeBob Musical is playing at the Woodland Opera House starting August 11th

The SpongeBob Musical will be playing at the Historic Woodland Opera House from August 11th to the 27th. Though based on the quirky and lovable Nickelodeon cartoon character, the show, surprisingly to some, is full of original songs penned by icons of the music world. It was nominated for 12 Tony Awards in 2018!

Paddy on the Binge Live at The HIVE on July 28th!

Next in the Live at The HIVE Summer Concert Series is Paddy on the Binge! This is a local band based in Davis and plays traditional Irish and Scottish music, as well as other musical bits.
